(Grades 8-12, rising)
Today philosophy is used as a springboard to many careers. It’s used in law, business, medicine, research, writing, and teaching to name a few. This class will develop your complex, critical, caring, and creative thinking skills by learning more about philosophy. Philosophy is many things...a way of life, a system for problem solving, and a way of understanding the wonders of the world. During the week, we’ll create our own society and apply philosophical theories learned during class. Real case studies will be reviewed from business to medical ethics. Instructor: Court Lewis, Ph.D., UT Philosophy Dept.; M.A., philosophy.
