Ready to register? Write down the Course # and Fee for the course you want to take. Registration Payment Methods Transfers and Cancellations Campus Parking and Maps Office Hours Textbooks Register as early as possible! All courses have limited enrollments and are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. A receipt and follow-up information will be mailed to you. Online Registration: Your online registration is tentative until you receive confirmation from our office. VISA, Discover, and MasterCard are accepted. Fax: Register anytime by faxing in your registration. Print out the online registration form and fax it to (865) 974-0154. Be sure to provide the number and expiration date of your credit card. VISA, Discover, and MasterCard are accepted. Mail: Print out the online registration form and mail it along with your check, to: UT Professional & Personal Development, 313 UT Conference Center Bldg., Knoxville, TN 37996-4137. In Person: Register in person during our regular business hours. Our office is located at the UT Conference Center at 600 Henley Street, Suite 313, Knoxville, TN 37996. Our office hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday - Friday EST. [Return to top] Payment You may pay by credit card (VISA, Discover, or MasterCard), check, cash (exact change only), money order, or company invoice/purchase order. Payment is due at time of registration. Make check or money order payable to: The University of Tennessee. Cash payments must be made in person. The UT fee waiver policy for faculty and staff does not apply to non-credit courses. Transfers The Professional & Personal Development department is happy to transfer you from one class to anotherpreferably within the same term, or you may send a substitute in your place; however, since decisions to go with or cancel courses are made in advance of the start date, no transfers can be made within five (5) working days prior to the beginning of the class from which the transfer is requested. Additionally, we are only able to transfer a total of two times. Please check your schedule carefully or send a substitute. Cancellations If you cancel your registration(s) at least five (5) business days prior to the first class, you will receive a refund of course fee(s) minus a $15 or 3% processing fee, whichever is greater, for each registration cancelled. No refunds are given for registrations cancelled the day before, the day of, or after the first class. * Smoky Mountain Field School cancellations must be made ten (10) business days prior to the start of class, except where noted, in order to meet the requirements for a refund. If we cancel a course for any reason, you will receive a full refund. UT Professional & Personal Development reserves the right to cancel, postpone, or combine classes and substitute qualified instructors when necessary. [Return to top] Returned Checks For all returned checks there is a $30 administrative fee added to the course fee owed to UT Professional & Personal Development. The administrative fee increases to $40 if the check is not redeemed within two (2) weeks of notification. All returned checks must be paid with a money order, cash, or cashiers check in our office at 313 UT Conference Center Bldg.; Knoxville, TN 37996-4137. Winter Weather Policy If winter weather is threatening, some classes may be cancelled, depending on the facility and instructor. If your class meets at West High School and the Knox County Schools are closed for that day, your class WILL NOT MEET. Classes held on the UT Campus are canceled if UT Evening classes are canceled, and this is very rare. If you have questions, please call us during office hours (8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. EST). After hours, call and check our answering machine for messages, and also make sure you have your instructor’s phone number. [Return to top] Parking Downtown Public parking is available in several area lots close to the University Conference Center. Parking is also available for $7 for all day or $1 for first two hours and $1 per additional hour in the Locust Street/University Parking Garage, which is entered on Walnut Avenue or Locust Street. Campus Parking Professional & Personal Development students, parking a vehicle in a campus lot, are subject to abide by all UT Traffic & Parking Regulations (All parking in campus lots is by permit only). You may find a copy of these rules and regulations at http://web.utk.edu/~pso/. All parking assignments include commuter lots after 3:00 p.m. and Staff lots after 4:00 p.m. Students do have several payment options and may choose which option best serves their need: Option 1: Temporary student permits may be purchased at the rate of $15.90 and are designed for students attending only current term classes. Option 2: Daily permits are available for $5.00/day. These permits are ideal for students who have few class dates to attend. Option 3: Pay parking is available at parking meters located on City of Knoxville streets (various rates) or in the University Center Garage ($1.00 per half hour). Please bring your class receipt to Parking Services in order to purchase a permit. The “T” transportation service is available for all students see http://ridethet.com/ for more information. Parking Services is located at 2121 Stephenson Drive (off Neyland at Liendard Lane). Hours are M-F 7:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Phone 974-6031 or TDD 974-6483.
